BioE 200 Applied Bioinformatics

The course provides knowledge and understanding of Bioinformatics Algorithms. The aim of the course is to teach how to apply bioinformatics algorithms to solve real-world problems in biology and biomedicine. The course will cover genome assembly and annotation of newly sequenced organisms, construction of phylogenetic trees, monitoring outbreaks of disease, and processing of next generation sequencing data. The course will be hands-on and students will solve real-world problems during this course.
