EnSE 344 Modelling Bioprocess & Env. Engineering
The course combines the basic theory of modelling bioprocesses in environmental and biochemical engineering with practical tutorials and hands-on experience on
computer-based applications. Diverse bioreactor types and operation modes are integrated with traditional models (e.g., activated sludge, anaerobic digestion). Several modern bioprocesses using
microbial biofilms are investigated. A step-by-step modelling approach is followed, from simple lumped models to 1-D.
