PS 304 Advanced Plant Genetics
Advanced Plant Genetics - Concepts and applications of advanced genetic principles in higher plants.
The course covers classical and contemporary topics in genetics, with specific focus on advanced concepts of genetics in plant systems. Topics covered will include classical, molecular, and cytogenetics in plants.
Genetics includes: Mendelian inheritance, linkage, epigenetics, genome structure and transposable elements
Cytogenetics includes: chromosome structure and aberrations, cell division, polyploidy and chromosome numerical variations, aneuploid analysis, gene-transfer in wide crosses.
