ERPE 253 Hydrocarbon Production System
Production system analysis is to maximize the well productivity or injectivity in a cost-efficient manner, and it focuses the fluid flow units including near well region, wellbore, and surface network, which migrate fluids between subsurface reservoirs (rock) and surface. This course will discuss the production performance in different types of reservoir fluids, the characterization of near-well condition, single and multiphase fluid flow in different wells, well deliverability, completion designs, and production from unconventional reservoirs. Students will also apply these theories and methods through numerical problems (programming) based on exercises and practical project assignments.
