Academic Semesters and Sessions

An academic year at KAUST consists of the Fall Semester, Spring Semester, and Summer Session.

Each Semester runs for 15 teaching weeks, with the Fall Semester from August to December, and the Spring Semester, from January to May. A full-time credit load for a semester is 12 credit hours.

The Summer Session runs for eight weeks, from June to August, with a full-time credit load of 6 credit hours.

Regular classes are scheduled during the Fall and Spring Semesters, and Summer Session. The Winter Session is primarily reserved for the Winter Enrichment Program (WEP).
